- NAV 2008 3-user lic. product reviewI bought a 3-user license for three computers running Windows XP (2 Home Edition and 1 Media Center Edition). The MDC PC had problems with installation, so I contacted tech support. Their Tech Support labor is cheap, but not very effective, we are still trying to resolve the issue. I have purchased Norton Antivirus for my own personal computer since Windows 95 (in 1996). Every version gets worse and conflicts more with Windows and third party applications. It is nice to have brand loyalty, but I can not continue supporting this brand. Rating: - Yup, it slows down my system at restartI just installed this product because my other antivirus (Computer Associates) had expired. I restarted my computer to activate the Norton software for the first time. The restart was S.....L.....O.....W. It wouldn't even load my startup items like gmail notifier. After a few minutes I gave up. To test if it was Norton, I turned off the virus protection, restarted the computer and bingo, everything loaded up as quickly as normal. So, beware of this software. It may not slow down everyone's system, but it definitely slowed mine to a grinding halt. Lucky me. Rating: - Slows Computer & MoreThis product will slow your computer significantly but more than that the Live Update does not work for me at least. I have had AV 2008 for six months it has never worked, and I have vertified the configuration more than once. Tech support has not been helpful. Their solution seems to be "uninstall" and "reinstall." Rating: - Enough antivirus program for meI have used norton for at least 3 years. I like antivirus only and don't like some additional funcations some other software has. This one gave me enough protection through the time. Good one! Rating: - Fairly GoodNAV is the best Antivirus program out there. It blocks anything I could think of that needs blocking plus anything I can't think of. Simple to set up and easier to use than older versions. Only problem I have noticed is when the computer goes to sleep it turns off NAV and you have to manually turn it back on when you wake up your computer. I am on cable modem so connection is always on. I think NAV should be also. Bill |
